General Comments and Emotional Impact

This is a wonderful poem as a tribute to a hero, a police officer. Truly the ones who give up their life so that we all can live happily and safely are true heroes and no matter how much we try to show our respect and gratitude it is always not enough. Well written.

Form and Rhyme Scheme

There is rhyming pattern of the form a,a,b,b. This is perfect in all the stanzas except the second paragraph, fourth line. The rhythm is fine and there are no disruptions in flow of the poem.

The title fits the content very well and the description below is interesting.

My Favourite Lines

"For he was one of us, not famous, proud or great,
Just a man doing his duty, a father, son, brother, mate."

True heroes are those among us, our family, our friend or just an ordinary person who rises up to the situation for the good of others.

A very good poem so I am giving it 5 stars.
