![]() | The Fish ![]() Based on a quote by Albert Einstein. Written for "Poetic Journeys" contest. ![]() |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hi Thursday, Thank you for sharing this poem! I love your take on the Einstein quote, and the moral of the story. Poor little fish... This piece is written with style, and enjoyable to read. I loved the imagery and the use of the animals as characters. As for criticism, I'd like to offer the following, but first, I'd like to state that I am not a poet, and am only one reader, and I offer my opinions hoping you will use what helps and leave the rest. As I read, I felt the rhythm was a bit off in places, so I read again, counting syllables. The syllable count seems to be completely random. Perhaps trying for something a little more steady would improve the flow of this piece? This one is completely personal, but the piece seems so sweet and upbeat, but the ending is so sad! Have you thought about expanding and letting the fish find his own inner genius? I know, it's probably contrary to what you were going for, and the piece is great as it stands. Thanks again for sharing! I hope my comments are helpful. mblank ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ![]() ![]()
