I picked your story to review through the Random Read at WdC. It was a real pleasure reading your work and I am glad to give you some impressions I have of your piece as well as a short review.
 
My review is based solely on my opinion and feelings. While I may suggest some structural alterations, I prefer to lend my feelings and impressions about a story in the hopes that they may be of some help and encourage further thought about what has been created. Please take what you think is appropriate for your work and disregard the rest.
 
Overall Impression
“Shadow Wisp” is a classic fantasy story with lots of action, suspense, dangerous characters that are armed with magic, amulets, shards and incantations. I love it. It took me a few times on several paragraphs to get all of the characters in their proper roles, but it was worth the effort as your story progresses.
 
Interest and Pace
The early hint of a pending assasination, the mystery behind Shadow Wisps and how they operate, the apparent presence of spies to complicate matters and Kiran’s mission to stop Jakinda from carrying out the assasination, are powerful elements that immerse me into the world of Pandora. The pace runs at a wondeful jaunt, with no deviation for back story or excessive description. Perfect for a powerful action piece.
 
Structure and Clarity
I am becoming a fan of the twisting turns that an action/adventure fantasy piece can take and “Shadow Wisp” provided me with a great deal of substance to be deeply involved with. Your structure allows the unleashing of a lot of character development as well as revelation of how the magic is working. With so many characters with so many different powers and weapons I can imagine it was hard to write and keep it all clear, but you did a masterful job of helping the reader stay with the story.
 
Edits/Revisions
I did not find any place within the story where I would recommend edits or revisions. All in all the power of the story comes through fast and furious and the images are often beautiful and poetic.
 
Summary
Being on the mission with Kiran, engaging with some of the most potent people in Pandora was a great adventure filled with lots of color and action. It was an engaging read and I look forward to reading more of your work in the future.
