Hi
It is my pleasure to read your poem and give you a review. Please remember, I'm a writer just like you and these are only my impressions. My ultimate goal is to be helpful and supportive. Just give it more time, soon you'll remember only the happy memories. Thanks for sharing your work.

*ButterflyG*Title/Subtitle: "Cold Night of Rain" is the title of this poem.

The description underneath reads, "A memorial poem for a friend."

*ButterflyV*Message/Theme: The author grief for a friend is everlasting. It's so hard to forget and move on. If it wasn't for the daily routine that keeps her going, she's afraid the pain would get too great and she'd be lost.

The theme is Grief- How to deal with it and stay sane.

*ButterflyR*Narrative/Style: The narrative is sweet, clear, and honest. It's hard losing a friend, someone who you use to talk to, be with, share secrets with. Now everything is different, and you have to find a way to be happy again.

The style is personal.

*ButterflyO*Form/Flow: The form is three line stanzas except for the last, which is four. nineteen lines.

The poem flows smooth and precise.

Tone: The tone is sad but hopeful, adoring, and fervent.
Mood: The mood is passionate, nostalgic, and sentimental.

*ButterflyG*Imagery/Pace: The imagery is that of sadness, I can feel it in every line. How can I scale that cliff again, and feel warm again without any more pain and grief?

*ButterflyB*Suggestions & Typos: I didn't find any errors.

*ButterflyV*Overall Thoughts & Rating: Yes, it is hard to lose your best friend. You feel lost and alone, you still have hopes and dreams, but somehow the happiness is harder to feel once again.

I feel this is a five star poem. You are honest with yourself, you are trying to adjust, but somehow the pain keeps coming back.

*ButterflyR*FAVORITE LINE:

Should each day be such an energy drain
Leaving one's soul numb with spirit quaking
By warmth of day or in cold night of rain

*Note*JUST MY PERSONAL OPINION:*Note*

You thought you had control of your life, everything is going according to plan, and then your friend dies. This can shake up anybody. So many memories keep pouring back, making you wish she or he was with you once again. Thank you for sharing you talent.
