Overall impression: This is a chilling story of murder and obsession. The plot is worked out well. The plot builds slowly to an explosive end. The style is easy to read.

Characterization: The story is told from two viewpoints: one of Meg, who is a police Lieutenant and the other from Francis, who is a doctor and killer. The revelation of the story is interesting building suspense along the way. Motive is well established and developed as the story goes along. The characters are well done.

Dialogue: Good dialogue that advances the story.
