![]() ![]() ![]() A very intriguing stream of consciousness piece that will raise quite a few questions for the readers. Although the title calls it a dream, it doesn't read like one, and the last line made me wonder if it was perhaps the thoughts of the narrator as s/he couldn't sleep. Or maybe, as you mentioned that the narrator couldn't dream any more, it didn't refer to night time dreams but rather to plans for the future, achievements s/he felt s/he could never realize. This might fit with the first paragraph where the narrator seemed to ponder things s/he would never get to do. There is of course the possibility that it was an actual death the narrator was speaking about but it seemed more like a metaphorical one. You didn't say what exactly brought on those thoughts and the readers will find little fact to explain what exactly the narrator meant. The reflections jump from one topic to another, as thoughts tend to do, which made it difficult to follow and at the same time easy to identify with. There is always something intriguing about being allowed to see someone's ideas and how they might be formed in their mind, and this was the feeling I had here, although, like I said, it appeared to be the death rather than the birth of something that you were describing. There were some very interesting lines, for example, I can still be able to remember what I imagined it would be like. Towards the end, there were some typos you can catch easily if you run a spell checker, if you are planning to edit the story. Although I wasn't sure what exactly you were describing, I found this piece fascinating. ![]() ![]() ![]()
