*NoteV* Poetry ~
Reading this poem was like reading lyrics to a song, with a melody playing in my head adding to the backdrop. You had good rhyme and flow with this piece. It was easy to see the Christmas morning unfolding with the children eager to find the gifts under the tree.

*green**NoteG* Impressions ~
You took me from something very sweet, to sad by the end at him being alone for Christmas. I really enjoyed it because your descriptions were so vivid and pulled me right into every detail. I liked the stanza of the coyotes howling while he played his banjo, singing the carols that reminded him of earlier days. It also made me wonder why he was out there alone, taking me further past the poem. I was hooked from the first two lines of the poem, riding the same journey that your character went on. I found no errors, or anything that stopped the flow in any way. You are very good at adding enough detail that it draws the reader in and keeps their attention until the very last word. You were able to implement all of the things that make Christmas time special, from the food, to the lights and presents. Write on! I enjoyed the journey you took me on, even though it made me sad and feel a little lonely. Bringing out emotions in your reader is always a very good thing!
