![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A Review from "SIMPLY POSITIVE GROUP" ![]() Hi Cinn ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() While I was browsing through more of your 2014 poems, the title of this poem caught my attention. Other than reading nature poems, I love writing and reading dark, emotional poems and 'loss' just hit me like something extremely emotional and I wanted to know what kind of a loss was mentioned here in your poem. The cover art was beautiful, it reminded me of The Book of Life movie where similar art work was used. Although your poem is short but it is packed with so many raw, strong and powerful emotions. The way I perceived your poem is a mother losing her child and how difficult it is for her to deal with the depression and think of trying to move on with her life. It painted a sad picture in front of me as I imagined myself as the third person watching an empty crib, feeling sad knowing that there lived once a baby for a short period of time and he is gone so quickly. I cannot imagine how it must feel to lose a child, especially when he's just a baby. A loss can change a person in so many different ways, it can be a physical change or a psychological change and in most cases where a person experiences loss, it is both. His or her eating, sleeping habits change and their relationship with others deteriorate as they continue to shut themselves. Everyone's response to loss is different and you have captured the loss of a child perfectly here. The flow of your poem was good and my favourite lines were silence echoes from the empty crib sweet face turned to sugar skull. ![]() ![]() Write On! ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ![]() ![]()
