Plot/story elements: Did I feel attached to the story or poem? I was am a teacher and have been for many years. For those of who stay, we consider it a ministry and calling. It's true that true students lie in observing others. Life does indeed become a classroom in that way. Would I recommend this piece of writing to someone else? I think all teachers, and just those inside the classroom can use opportunities to reflect on life's giant fishbowl of a classroom. Life is a student's greatest and harshest teacher. Was there a clear purpose to it? If student's don't heed the guidance of school then they have chosen to be taught by life which not always a kinder mistress. Glows: I love your description of the viscous and vacant hole. I was just having a discussion last night with one of my friends about teaching. We both agreed that we can't save them all. Sometimes, they are lost to us before we even begin the fight which is what makes teaching such a hearbreaking endeavor. Those of us who listen and study the game of life become and experts and we can't share our knowledge for our audience isn't ready to take our warnings. Their adolescence won't allow them to see the folly of their ways.
