Plot/story elements: Did I feel attached to the story or poem? Horse stories are always such nice pieces to read. They always seem to bring out the most compassion and caring from our human characters. This piece showed Lisa to be exactly that, an owner who loved her horse as much as any friend could. Would I recommend this piece of writing to someone else? One of my favorite stories growing up was Black Beauty. This story reminded me of how passionately I once felt about horses. I've never had the privlege to own one but they are beautiful and majestic creatures deserving of our kindness and respect. I always loved the connection between horses and humans since then. Was there a clear purpose to it? It was simply about a girl who showed sympathy and compassion to her sick horse. I think it's important that we support stories that show moments of kindness and compassion towards animals. Glows: It was well written and you really chose dialog that highlighted how Lisa felt about her horse. Grows: It didn't rivet me to the edge of my seat but I suppose that wasn't its intended purpose. It was a sweet account of a horse that meant a great deal to our main character Lisa.
