Plot/story elements: Did I feel attached to the story or poem? It's a very solemn piece questioning the way we look at the afflicted, one of my passions. The opening verse got me. The dying screams of the heart is such a powerful line. To me, it represents the walls we build in our hearts. Would I recommend this piece of writing to someone else? I love this piece because it gets that the heart of our tendency to grow callous to suffering. We are a world deluded. I would argue that we are aware but choose to ignore which is a worse characteristic in my perspective. Was there a clear purpose to it? The way I interpret the piece is to question the way we deal with the suffering of humanity. We have a tendency to separate those we view as afflicted in some way or mal adjusted in society. We are ignorant to embracing different perspectives, I would argue because we are too scientific and not holistic enough to think about other possibilities at this point in our history. ![]() The content of this poem is thought provoking and brings light to a much needed conversation. ![]() It's not wholly consistent, but I'm not sure it needs to be. It's an observation rather than a judgement. The first verse starts with The on every line but the other three stanzas don't start with a repetitive word. ![]() ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ~Tsa~ House of Greyjoy ![]() ![]()
