"Game of Thrones"  Open in new Window. by Gaby Author Icon

PLOT -
Max has let his passion go, as life has come and claimed his time with work, family, obligations. He doesn't like what he sees and decides to make a change. He starts out again, on his old path, running, walking, relearning his limits and pushing himself further than before. Not only does he run, but he clears his path as well with stones. He marks his 500th mile with pride, decorating a stone with the numbers adorned on them. And then tragedy strikes, threatening to wipe his accomplishment away.

SETTING -
Great visuals throughout this short story. You do a wonderful job painting a picture and pulling your reader right into the story as they follow your character through different events.

CHARACTERS -
Max who finally reaches his goal, only to be sidelined for a year because of a medical condition. He goes from a great high, down to rock bottom and is depressed by the changes in his path, seeing it all as a slap against him.

GRAMMAR/SPELLING/DIALOGUE -
He smiled at each reminder welcomed him back. --as or welcoming perhaps

Inner dialog worked well as the reader gained insight into Max and how he processed the changes in his life.

THOUGHTS -
Really solid piece of writing showing the struggle of Max, his triumph, downfall and then his profound realization. Great ending. Write on!
