General Comments & Reader Reaction: Well, I wanted to read a good horror/scary story today, and did I get one. Whatever this thing was, don't go near it. But without knowing why this man was walking like he's drunk, Angie went over to him to find out what is wrong? Fear shows all over her face before she's attacked by the very being she wanted to help. Characters: The main character has a chance encounter with something, not realizing it infected her. Emotion, Mood & Atmosphere: Fright takes over in this story, hunger for blood seems to be the motive, and the atmosphere is ridden with dead bodies whoever she passes by— Along with this scientist she infects, his bio hazard suit no match for such strength. Setting & Imagery: The setting takes place in the park, two women are sitting on a park bench watching this man who looks like he needs help. The imagery- "In one fluid motion, he leaps to his feet and launches at Angie. She throws up her hands to stop his assault, but he smashes through her weak attempt and sinks his teeth into her neck." Plot & Pace: The plot is a chance encounter with something out of this world. Something infected this man, they are inside him, making him hunger for blood. The pace is perfect as each scene unfolds new horrors until you reach the conclusion. Will it ever stop? It's looking more and more bleak. Themes: The theme is life is fragile enough as it is, meeting something like this can wipe out masses of people. Structure & Consistency: The structure is well thought out, no reader will become bored, and it stays consistent through the end. Writing Style & Grammar: The writing style is horror/scary, dark, and death. Favorite Lines: Thick, black viscus material bubbles up to his lips, and I realize what’s about to happen. I put up my hands, as if I can somehow ward off this fresh horror, but when he vomits all over me, I am doused in the syrupy fluid. Overall Impression & Conclusion: Descriptions like this makes you sick to your stomach, but you still read on. Good job! WriteOn! Thank you for sharing your work with us!
