Review brought to you by: "Game of Thrones" by Creeper Of The Realm OVERALL IMPRESSION - Really great Daily Flash. You really painted the scene of war and then the shock of what happened during the Christmas Truce of 1914. WHAT I LIKED BEST - How the chilling silence didn't give way to something bad, that instead, something peaceful came out of it. PLOT~ A World War I soldier is awakened by an eerie sound of silence. He walks the trenches with this shovel and rifle, surprised there were no shots being fired, no smoke from gunfire. It is still night as he walks, and then suddenly the most unusual sounds filters through to the troops. Singing. Christmas Carol's from both British and Germany soldiers. CHARACTER(S)~DESCRIPTION~ The soldier telling the story who witnesses something so profound in the middle of a vicious war. You described the scene of sleeping soldiers, the silence, and what that battlefield looked like enough for me to picture it all. I liked how it started with the silence, and his recollection still lingers on that sound of silence. DIALOG~ Just a couple lines of dialog and they worked. It was easy to feel the shock from the stunned soldier, as they listened to the singing and then recognized O Come, All Ye Faithful. Thank you for the information at the bottom of the page.
