![]() | What Are "Cosmic Strings" ? ![]() The very basics of Theoretical Physics. ![]() |
Aloha, Lilbigtoes! I've always been a little interested in astrophysics, so to see this come across on here was interesting. I once did a paper in high school (circa 1983-yeah, I'm old!) about black holes and learned quite a bit about them, and there's been volumes learned about them since then. Not only is the universe expanding, but so is our knowledge about it! As for cosmic strings, I don't know much about them, and that link you provided about 'Exotic Matter' didn't come up on the comp here at the library. I'd personally like to learn more about dark matter, but that's for another time. But what really interested me about this piece was you claiming that time travel is indeed possible. I remember Stephen Hawking suggesting it might be possible if we could get close enough to the event horizon of a black hole and be able to return without getting sucked into it. Speculation, but who knows? On a side note, there's a book out that's been on the N.Y. Times best seller list for 41 weeks called Astrophysics for People in a Hurry, by Neil deGrasse Tyson. I've been meaning to check it out, but there's a long waiting list. ![]() Great piece, Lilbigtoes! Kee ponw ritin gon, my friend, and welcome to WdC! If you like to write, then you're going to love it here! PS-You might want to get your biography set up so we can know a little something more about you (hobbies, favorite authors/books, location, etc.), but that's up to you, of course. PPS-Since you’re new here, perhaps you’d like to check out "Noticing Newbies" ![]()
PPPS-If you want more exposure for your items you can put them on the Please Review Page or The Plug Page under Community on the left hand side.
