HAPPY WDC ACCOUNT ANNIVERSARY FROM "Anniversary Reviews" Hi Andy~hating university ! I'm back for another review! This piece of yours I found and had to click on because of that gorgeous trophy! Congratulations and well-deserved! Oh, again, happy anniversary! Ok, wow. This is the way all poems should be experienced. Your voice is so perfect for this poem. Very very well done and so deserving of the awards you received! If I could rate more than five stars, I would in a heartbeat. I would like to see poets sharing the readings of their poetry on this site more often. I think it adds a tremendous amount of emotion and power to the piece, so I was really giddy to hear your presentation of your piece. I really have nothing to critique your poem on. It is vivid, dark, and clean. It flows off my tongue when I read it to myself. My favorite lines are many, but the pair I picked out that feel really good to read are: "Down I go into the black, / from the darkness no way back." Very good climax. My suggestions for improvement then can only be for the reading itself. Mind you, the reading is what made the presentation of your poem so perfect for me, but because of that, I think it can be improved even more. If you are up to it, I would recommend a re-recording of the reading. This way you can fix the reading of the line "dark-winged angels at my door." I also noticed that the reading cuts off before the last line. I don't know if this is my computer's fault, but you may want to check this. I have to say as well that I really admire you for your clear understanding of poetic meter. I was attempting to teach myself earlier this year, and it really was not coming easy for me, so I'm always envious of poets who make beautiful use of it in their poetry. Super super super poem! Thank you for sharing, and I hope you anniversary is amazing! Take care, Emily "WdC SuperPower Reviewers Group" E: Join the fun! We inspire reviewers through kindness and learning!
