Delightful! A fine example of poetic justice, and one that hopefully carried a lesson or multiple lessons: Don't mess above your level. Don't laze, make an effort. Cooperation. Teamwork. And so on.

I liked the characters: Cynthia's sweet nature and Bec's--inventiveness. In the time it took her to "take a short cut," Bec could have helped Cynthia finish up, and then both could have raked near the West Wing. I also enjoyed the descriptive scenery, especially the giant oak and the grounds beautifully carpeted with autumn's skirts. As a visual learner, I really benefited from your description.
