That was perfect. That was great. I guessed from the start that this was no ordinary trick-or-treater, but I wasn't sure obtuse Gerald knew. (Guess he did, but this reader didn't know he knew). I loved everything about this story and I wouldn't change anything (except to add a comma after Miriam turned back). This was so enjoyable! I admire the way you anthropomorphised fantasy and fantastical creatures, and you drew the characters exquisitely! I could clearly visualize each and every comment and action. Wonderfully done!
