Hello paddy1! I'm reviewing "Invalid Entry" today from "WdC SuperPower Reviewers Group" for "I Write in 2019" I also want you to know that I realize for some, poetry is a very personal experience, and some criticism can be taken personally. Keep in mind that I'm merely basing my review off my own personal interpretation of your work and don't feel obligated to use any suggestions that may lie within. I consider myself a forever student and sometimes simply enjoy exploring new poetic devices I have learned when I notice them. Hopefully, you'll find this review helpful and encouraging! Overall Impressions: With a tad bit of research (thank you for providing a link), I see you wrote this poem based on an actual archaeological dig. I was fascinated to see they actually have websites for this kind of thing and people can visit them. I figured they were always private to protect the relics. Anyhow, your poem is straight and to the point, a recreation of what is actually happening at the Vindolanda dig. I did enjoy that you created this poem in a visual format that seems to simulate a dig down as it is written. Visually pleasing! Though it would be nearly impossible in the contest this was written for (24 Syllables) I would love to see you add more detail to this poem to flesh it out and give it some historical/emotional feeling. But for what it was written for, you did a wonderful job and I wish you good luck in the contest. Additional Comments: Excellent job in sticking to the 24 syllables! Good luck, as well, in completing the I Write 2019 Challenge! Keep on Writing! My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Get CASH!" .
