Welcome to WDC from "Newbie Welcome Wagon" ! Greetings, Austin! Well, welcome to Writing.Com, and I'm so glad that Somik introduced you to this site! One thing you might want to know is that this is a VERY large site with a lot of different places to see and a bazillion things to do, but please don't be intimidated by that! You don't need to see everything or know everything--I've been here for 8 and a 1/2 years and I still haven't seen everything, and I honestly don't think anybody else has either, other than the owners, The StoryMaster and The StoryMistress (they're husband and wife, so it's a team effort when it comes to who's the 'soul' of this community). All you need to do is look around, make some friends (the best way to do that is review some pieces and let your name be known), and get a feel for the site. You'll find out after a while that you'll probably fall into a 'clique' where you'll share some likes with other members. Personally, I write horror, and I have a lot of 'horror' friends on here. Also, write some stories or poems or whatever literary thing you're into and/or enter some contests, which will also get your name out there! And one other thing: yes, it is a writing community, but it's also a family, as you'll find out the longer you're here. When one of us is hurting, be it emotionally, physically, or whatever it might be, there's always somebody on here to bend an ear or offer a shoulder to lean on! Anyway, that's about it! Kee ponw ritin gon, Austin, and welcome to WdC! If you like to write, then you're going to love it here! PS-You might want to get your bioblock (biography) set up so we can know a little something about you (hobbies, favorite books/authors, location, etc.), but that's up to you, of course. PPS-And since you’re new here, perhaps you’d like to check out "Noticing Newbies" and introduce yourself to the rest of the community if you haven’t already.
PPPS-If you want more exposure for your items you can put them on the Please Review Page or The Shameless Plug Page under Community on the left hand side.
