Ahoy, Hiker Angel!
Didn't take ye long to write this, did it? 'Course I know that's your style, and it always seem to work for ye, so why mess with it now?
This is pretty good! I guess you could consider this a good example of keeping your friends close, but your enemies closer! Actually that's a terrible example, but you know what I was going for, right?
I like the dialect/dialogue, and the conversation flowed naturally for a pair of old, greedy pirates. And even though you did use the sea serpent prompt, it wasn't quite what I was expecting. That's not to say you used it incorrectly (I'm not judging anyway!), just that you used it more of an analogy/synonym, if you see what I mean.
Old Sandy was a wise one, though wasn't he? His last words were the mantra of being a true pirate! Dying by the foulest of scallywags always beats death by dancing at the end of a rope! I love how you said that, by the way!
A few tiny niggles picked out by the niggle monster:
"Wouldn't ye like to know?" Beared said.' (Beard)
"Why so certain(,) are ye?"
'He gave (a) chuckle of irony'
Kee ponw ritin gon, HA! Thanks for entering, good luck in the contest, and have spooktacular New Year!
