Welcome to WDC from "Newbie Welcome Wagon" ! Hi, JJ. It's hard for me to review pieces like this since I know all too well the loss of a close pet. But I still do because I know it might help the writer find a little more closure. This is a very nice tribute to Mittens, and you did a beautiful job of writing it. I can see how close you were. Maybe (probably) a lot closer than other people are to their pets. That hole might never be filled by another pet, but hopefully there's some still room for another pet and another animal/friend to love! And you'll still always have those fond memories! My father and I used to raise Great Danes, and sadly they don't live long lives due to their bone structure. They tend to have problems with their hips. But the best dog I ever had was a foster dog named Bru. His owner asked me to watch him for about 2 weeks, but he didn't show up again for 2 YEARS! Now mind you, Bru was a Pit Bull, and at that time I was terrified of Pits! But after a couple of weeks he started growing on me, and it didn't take long before we bonded, even more than I ever had with a Great Dane! And get this! When his owner finally did show up to get him, I told him he wasn't taking Bru! The guy never left me with any money or even contacted me during those 2 years he was gone, and on top of that, he wanted to take Bru and move into a trailer in the desert! He offered me $500, and I told him I wouldn't let go Bru for $1 MILLION! And I really meant that! Anyway, sorry. I digress. Nice job, JJ! It's nice to see that there's still true animal lovers in this world! Kee ponw ritin gon, my friend, and have a wonderful day! PS-Is that cover image a real picture of Mittens?
