*PenB* First Impressions:

Ah, just like Sarah, I was so sure that I had figured out what was going on half-way through the story. Turns out we were both wrong, only, luckily for me, I was just the reader. The way you set this up was very well done, and Jim came across as the villain even if the readers don't meet him until the end. Sarah’s concerns seemed well reasoned, and when she found everything fitting her theory, of course she jumped to the wrong conclusion.

There were a couple of hints early on that Sarah’s judgement might not be spot on - the fact that she drove home after the office party although she was a little drunk, her insecurities about not knowing what her husband saw in her. It contributed to her seeing what she wanted to see or rather, what she feared to see, and the outcome was fatal for her. Her husband had done nothing wrong, or so it seemed.

*PenG* Suggestions:

The story was very polished and I spotted just one error - hardly worth mentioning, but I’m here so...

only child of wealthy, over-protective parents
I believe it’s one word, “overprotective”.

*PenP* Final Thoughts:

I liked the twist in this story, that despite Sarah expecting what she believed was the worst thing that could happen, it actually turned out to be worse, and unexpectedly so. The way you showed the argument between Sarah and Jim, and the descriptions of her coming home and her thoughts on finding the house as she did were very realistic. I have to admit that I could follow her perhaps a little too well, which was probably why I drew the same wrong conclusions. A good story; I enjoyed the read!
