Oh, Hummingbird! Sing it. [13+] A poll based on the prompt "hummingbird". Romance? Murder? Dumbo? A hummingvamp? |
Greetings, Kåre เลียม Enga! You're receiving this review from Nobody’s Home in conjunction with "Game of Thrones" . Impressions I loved this prompt poll about hummingbirds. As a birder (my spouse is the obsessive birder), I selected option three both because I know Anna's and Rufous hummers and love the cleverness that they're similar and can sometimes be hard to tell apart if the lighting isn't great (or if you're less experienced, like me). Of course my expert is here telling me Anna's and Black Chinned are really what I'm thinking. Anyway, I've also always planned to (eventually) write a story about a bird society with the species traits, and I'd love to see what you'd do with hummingbirds. I know, I know. What about your survey? These are some great prompts! I'm surprised at the number and variety of prompts you were able to come up with. I'm also impressed by survey results thus far. My favorite prompt was #8, because it sounds the most like you, it's beautiful and sad, it feels of tradition, the texture of silk embroidery, the sounds of hummingbirds twittering. Why didn't I choose that one? I guess I wanted to show off my knowledge about hummingbirds. It pleases me that more people have chosen #8 than any other. (I'm also relieved that none have chosen Dumbo–yet.) Suggestions My only suggestion would be to offer the option to add your own prompt with hummingbirds. I can see that this might negate the purpose of the poll, though, but before I began the poll, I was excited by the idea of coming up with a hummingbird prompt. Of course, now that idea has flown and I don't remember what I was thinking of when I wanted that option. Such is the way with tired Covid brains. Take-Away This makes me realize that should do more surveys on WDC, and I love this "choose a prompt" idea. Thanks for taking the initiative to run with it. I wish you all the best, Kåre. I might not be a visitor to your blogs, but I do think of you often. Take good care of yourself. Respectfully, Angie
