This is a "Game of Thrones" review! Hello, Solace.Bring! Overall Impression: This is laugh-out-loud funny, and anyone who doesn't agree can email me to file a complaint. Form, Rhythm, Cadence, and Style: This is poetic storytelling at its best, progressing from a hook to building tension and then to a climax and resolution. The rhyme scheme is perfect for the whimsical style of the poem, and the rhythm is regular for the most part. There are a few lines with an extra beat, but I found nothing that significantly interrupted the poem's flow, nor did I find any places where I had to reread a line. It read flawlessly the first time through. Content: This is very much a fable told informally and playfully. Although you've slipped in some themes of changes and consequences (and unforeseen consequences), they are well-disguised beneath the humor of Babbit's transformation. It makes it a perfect piece for children and families. Many readers will probably disagree with me on that point, given the fairy godmother's gallows humor. However, given the nature of the typical fairytale, and the type of books currently in high demand (Wonky Donkey, I Lost My Butt, and Have You Seen My Hat), this is precisely the type of thing many people are looking for. The humor is so exaggerated it becomes absurd, and this is one of the places where I laughed really hard. I'd probably be that kind of fairy godmother. Grammar and Mechanics: I love the use of words like "annoyful" as they perfectly fit the poem's mood. I didn't find anything major in terms of spelling, but I think this a typo: “Listen, up sourpuss; your conduct's rude should be “Listen up, sourpuss; your conduct's rude. Final Thoughts: This was so much fun to read. You should consider publishing it. Thank you for sharing your work with us!
