Hello Krista is Taking a Break First impression: The combination of the medal in the thumbnail image with the title and the intro line give a nicely ominous feeling. The Employee of the Year is some type of champion. But is it worth the honor if the price is working the graveyard shift? What works: The dropdown with the note about the contest, the wordcount, and the prompt are good additional information. I always appreciate it when I know why a story was written and why it has a certain length. The characters in the story were well defined. Although the narrator doesn't get a lot of description, his worries and actions and way of reporting show that he is a good coworker to have. Both the narrator and Ethan are relatable in the way that they are honorable in all of their dealings. It was so neat that Ethan thought he was getting overpaid and he even went to report it - only to find out that he was pulling double duty. What needs work: the graveyard shift at the loading docks for 6 years walked the 3 miles to work Digits up to ten get spelled out in a text. Final thoughts: The story advanced in a chronological way. The prompt was put to good use. I am glad that Ethan got paid for all his working hours. If not his waking hours. I also like that you gave Ethan a happy ending in which he could go back to working overnight as his body was clearly built for that schedule. My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Get CASH!" .
