*PenB* First Impressions:

This seems to be part of a longer story, or at least I got the feeling that you knew the characters and their world quite well. Not that the story can’t stand on its own; on the contrary, it probably helped the readers understand the setting because you seemed to know it. The story is quite short, but the readers still get to know the characters and follow easily what is happening. There is probably some backstory to it that explains why the people are in this situation - a war, perhaps, or some other disaster. We don’t get to find out in this tale but it’s not really necessary to appreciate it.

There are a lot of details in this story but the most important part seems to be how the two characters help each other. The shopkeeper is happy to accommodate the woman’s request and even throw in some of the goods for free. In return, he knows that her ingenuity will bring him more customers in the future when they see what she could do with the limited supplies he had, and she gets what she needs to clothe her family. It’s a win-win situation.

*PenG* Suggestions:

The story was well written. I didn’t notice any errors and I don’t really have any suggestions. Ordinarily, I would recommend choosing a few genres other than ‘Other’ which isn’t very descriptive, but I can’t actually think which one might be fitting for this tale. ‘Drama’ might work, but that is also not particularly original. If this is part of a longer work, you might want to use the same genres here, even if it is not apparent from this story what that is. If not, ignore me *Smile*

*PenP* Final Thoughts:

I liked this story and the two characters. Especially Celia came across very well, a little impatient at times but willing to go through the motions to get what she needed. She was creative and resourceful and knew what to do to help her family. It made her quite memorable, and I would be interested to read more about her.
