Wow, what a lot of emotion you packed into three short lines for this Than Bauk style poem.

Your writing kept me riveted and I read straight through to the end. Not hard to do with such a short poem but it seems like I have temporary ADHD today so it's actually a feat well accomplished.

My heart goes out to you. You wrote this during the pandemic and I can't even imagine how hard things were for you then. It seems both like so long ago and just yesterday. But I hadn't looked at the date when I read it and it seemed like something you could have written today. I imagine Mr. Hooves wishing he could hug you from Heaven and Boo waiting over the Rainbow Bridge ready to love on you yet somehow having a great time during the wait. They love you so much. I think love extends beyond this life. So that's why I wrote it in the present tense.

I hope that your journey gets easier and lighter and that the good memories start to outweigh the grief of loss.

My favorite line was .... the whole poem. I can't decide. Line one made me happy, that you began to smile again. Line two made me sad because you've been sad for so long. Line three made me hopeful, that you're willing to go the miles left. I stopped and prayed for you, for comfort, blessings, energy, and everything you need to thrive.

I loved that you entered this poem in the Writer's Cramp. I think it's super that judges can enter on their off days. I hope you won!
