Table Talk [E] A family is gathered together at the Thanksgiving table and of course, they converse. |
My review is based on professional editing points. It is meant to be honest, encouraging, and respectful in accordance with WDC guidelines. THE STORY Someone tooted during Thanksgiving dinner. WHAT I LIKED I liked the mystery. There's a whole host of characters who could have been culprit. DIALOGUE The story is told using all dialogue. It's always a challenge when using all dialogue, but I didn't have any problem figuring out who was speaking. Good job capturing each character's voice. DESCRIPTIONS My the best: "Over the gums, over the tongue, look out stomach here it comes." That was especially visual. SETTING TIME: modern day PLACE: kitchen setting This is something that was clarified for the reader. CHARACTERS Marie Marie is the one who is most offended by the toot and makes the biggest fuss. MECHANICS I did not spot any spelling/punctuation mistakes. PARTING THOUGHTS/SUGGESTIONS The opening engages the reader. A boisterous kitchen table for sure! Good luck in the Bard's Hall contest.
