I read this "Without a Compass Day" blog post of yours sometime in the past and enjoyed it, but didn't have time to review it right then, so I flagged it for an anniversary review (meaning I saved the link to it in a special "December" file. ). I hope you enjoy this review as a celebration of your time here and find the review uplifting and encouraging.

I could totally relate to this "Shadows" poem of yours. It's amazing how our memories work over time. You brought an aspect of this phenomenon to life vividly in your poem.

I suspect that most people who have old memories can relate to this poem of yours.

My favorite line was: "the mirror of my memory" though there were some other strong contenders too. I think I liked the alliteration in and the uniqueness of this line.

I wondered if you'd entered this lovely poem in any contests here? If you haven't yet entered it in Purplesunday's "Shadows and Light" free verse poetry contest, I recommend that you do.

I didn't notice any spelling or grammatical mistakes (or mistakes of any kind) in your "Shadows" poem.

I thought the dark, gothic, and spiritual genres you selected were appropriate for this "Shadows" poem of yours.
