I read this "It's not a formula, it's a relationship" essay of yours sometime in the past and enjoyed it, but didn't have time to review it right then, so I flagged it for an anniversary review (meaning I saved the link to it in a special "January" file. ). I hope you enjoy this review as a celebration of your time here and find the review uplifting and encouraging.

You made an excellent point with your essay. Overall in life, the whole point for Christians is to grow in our relationship with God. I think that includes that we are to glorify Him and honor Him with our lives.

My favorite section was this one near the middle: "God has set things up in such a way that we need Him to proceed. It is through a relationship with Him and fellowship with Him that we find our way. Without Him, we actually find nothing of value." So true! We need God so much! He literally provides our every breath of life and eternity would be bleak for me without His love. With His faithful love and amazing grace, it is something amazing to look forward to.

I personally think that loving God is more important than seeking him, but one must first seek Him before growing to love Him, so I could see an argument for your formula. Jesus Christ Himself did say the most important commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Seeking is a component of that, but love is more encompassing, at least to me.

I thought that your love for the Lord and others and care that they seek Him to experience life at its fullest shined throughout your "It's not a formula, it's a relationship" essay.

I didn't notice any spelling mistakes in your "It's not a formula, it's a relationship" essay.

I thought the Google search info was interesting. I wonder if the same things would show up at the top today. I don't wonder enough to check though, haha. I have two marauding kittens clamouring for my attention right now. So taking care of them is more important than satisfying my curiosity.

I thought the self help, spiritual, and religious genres you selected for this poem were appropriate matches for it.

The best thing I can think of to improve this piece would be to include a link to a resource on how people can best seek the Lord God. Perhaps www.peacewithgod.net (sponsored by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association), or www.gotquestions.org (a great resource, in my opinion), or one you know of. An interested not-yet Christian might read your essay and want to know more, but not know where to look. There's a lot of misinformation out there. I think it's good to share a resource / next step that you know gives true, Biblical information.

As with any review, please take what serves you and release or ignore what doesn't.
