HAPPY WDC ACCOUNT ANNIVERSARY FROM "Anniversary Reviews" Hello, Mastiff! INITIAL IMPRESSION / OVERVIEW: I enjoyed reading your "Family" poem every time I read it, including today. Your writing kept me riveted and I read straight through to the end. MORE DETAILED FEEDBACK: Happy Writing.Com Anniversary month! I read this "Family" poem of yours sometime in the past and enjoyed it, but didn't have time to review it right then, so I flagged it for an anniversary review (meaning I saved the link to it in a special "February" file. ). I hope you enjoy this review as a celebration of your time here and find the review uplifting and encouraging. Thank you for entering this "Family" poem in the Thankful Poetry Contest! The number and quality of entries always blow me away. You all are fantastic and lift my spirits with all of your poems about gratitude. I invite you to enter again this year. I loved your poem and the sentiments behind it. Your open home, heart, and table are beautiful. Your love for your family and friends and humanity shined throughout the poem. I thought the Shadorma form went well with the message of your poem. My favorite line was "Family is what you make," because it's true and kind of sums up your whole caring and welcoming attitude in this poem. I thought you did a great job with the prompt for week fifteen of the current round of the Promptly Poetry Challenge. You even gave four more lines than required. I didn't notice any spelling or grammatical mistakes (or mistakes of any kind) in your "A Note of Thanks" poem. I appreciated that you mentioned the Thankful Poetry Contest in your description. Thank you for the shout out there. I thought the holiday, family, and experience genres you selected for this poem were perfect matches for it. IDEAS TO MAKE YOUR PIECE STRONGER: In the spirit of helpfulness, and because of the requirements of a new reviewing challenge I joined recently, I have one little suggestion to make your piece stronger. If you're interested in some constructive criticism, read on. But if you aren't, no worries. Just know that I enjoyed your piece and move on to the next section. Still reading? You're brave! Yay for you! The thing that stood out to me is more about your note than your poem. Newbies and non-poetry people might not have any idea what "LC" means, so I'd recommend spelling it out as "Line count" or just "12 lines" or "Twelve lines." Basically, something that anyone, no matter their level of experience with poetry, might understand. As with any review, please take what serves you and release or ignore what doesn't. CONCLUSION: I enjoyed reading your "Family" poem again today, and empathized with and appreciated your sentiments that you expressed in it. Thank you for sharing your time, creativity, heart, experiences, and writing with the Writing.Com community! Once again, happy anniversary month! I hope the year ahead is filled with blessings and joy for you! May love, joy and peace be yours in abundance during your anniversary month, and always! PWheeler A SuperPower Reviewers Choice review!
