I enjoyed reading the way your characters interacted. Everyone was very believable. Even leaving a private diary out so that mom would read it. I had a similar (not same) interaction with one of my sons when he put something kind of personal on his Twitter feed where I found it. As a result of finding it online, we ended up discussing it through text messages. Strange? Not really. Every parent will find whatever way is the best to connect with their young adult child.
Your writing is flawless. The text flowed nicely and there weren't any strange words, spelling or punctuation mistakes that would have taken me out out of the narrative.
Five stars fully deserved. You will get the Time to Parent merit badge at the end of the contest round after June 15.
