I can't find out where you're from - you must be an American I reckon, to relate these heartfelt sentiments.

And the style and narrative seem American - punchy and direct. Emphasised by the short lines that work very well here.

Good choice to go with the rhymes - just to lift the gloom a tad and they work well.

The first verse seems pretty current - the second one is not so clear to me - is it about rioters in LA - or the infamous march to the capitol building? Either way or both, the sentiments still hold.

Overall, an insightful and engaging read that I enjoyed.
