Full of pathos and a bit of mystery, this four-tercet poem has been crafted in free verse. The rhythms seem to be equally mixed between iambic and anapestic feet with lines of tetrameter and pentameter fairly evenly distributed.

The first tercet appears to describe a headache of a friendship. It shows desired closeness, that is not always given.

The second verse describes the memories and grief of a lost friendship.

The third verse grasps for springtime's hope of new life, that is not easily sustained "on a glass pedestal."

The fourth tercet mentions a "vintage camera." I have a few. They are cherished, but they require effort to keep pristine. This, like a friendship, must be kept with self-discipline or "the retort" can mar the picture.

You've shared a good poem with a shrouded meaning. WRITE ON!
