Nothing quite like a good book series, especially one that has a community of fans behind it. Some communities will even last long after the original author's death. With the various Wiki Fandoms out there, they can be easy to find, and connect with. Of course, as with all communities, sometimes you will find folks that are either jerks, or have egos the size of Alaska (sorry Texas, but Alaska's bigger), that will cause you issues - I would know about this. Others though, decent enough to forge a decade+ long bond, united in appreciation of a topic.
