About This Newsletter

"What is drama but life with the dull bits cut out."
-- Alfred Hitchcock

Trivia of the Week: After a hiatus of just over a year, I'm back as an official newsletter editor! Picking up where I left off, this is my 225th official newsletter for the site, and my 337th written for the site overall. After several years of editing the For Authors Newsletter and Mystery Newsletter, I look forward to exploring new topics in the Drama Newsletter. Thank you for taking the time to read along!

BACK FOR MORE

Believe it or not, this is my first-ever Drama Newsletter! *Delight* It's actually one of only three official newsletters I've never contributed to, and I'm grateful to have the opportunity to explore a new genre and reach a new audience.

One of the things I want to do differently with this stint as a newsletter editor is make the process more interactive. I've spent years writing editorials based on topics that interested me or that I came up with on my own. Instead of doing things that way, I want the readers to feel like this newsletter is a dynamic and interactive experience that addresses your interests. Accordingly, I would encourage all of you to consider leaving comments, submitting items to be featured, etc. If you want to talk about it or have something you wrote that's appropriate to the conversation featured, I want to include it in the newsletter!

I'll still come up with newsletter topics that I find interesting if I don't have any suggestions from the readers, but my hope is that each month's Drama Newsletter that I write will be in direct response to something one of the readers wants to hear about. With that in mind, next month's newsletter will be on the subject of nonfiction. The suggestion comes from glynisj, who mentioned in a notebook comment that she's transitioned to nonfiction after years of attempting fiction without much success. She mentioned that she's looking for where to fit into a nonfiction writing group, so if anyone has any feedback or items they would like to have included on the topic of writing nonfiction or, more specifically, about writing groups for nonfiction authors, please consider submitting a comment below and we'll have a conversation about it in next month's newsletter!

Based on the feedback I receive, each newsletter will propose a topic for the following month, to give readers enough time to write in, suggest items, etc. Let's see how long we can keep the conversation going organically, based on reader feedback! *Bigsmile*

Until next time,

EXCERPT: Boredom sucks, so here I am trying to figure out a way to get over it, by doing this unasked for guide to Avery Creon.

EXCERPT: I’m sure I’m not alone in my fascination with the minutiae of other people’s lives. I’m so g** d*** nosy.

An urge has crept upon me, slowly nagging at my soul. An urge to spill, to extol, my boring, tedious, self possessed little life, out and proud.

So, the question is, where to begin?
