The holiday season is supposed to be a joyful time for family and celebrations. Unfortunately, that is not always the case. For many people it is a time of loneliness, regret, and anger. For others, it is not even the holiday season, because they celebrate different holidays at different time of the year.
Between November 20 and January 24 there are approximately 14 different religious holidays celebrated across the United States and the world. So when someone wishes you a "Happy Holiday", please be kind and wish them a "Happy Holiday", because they either do not know what holiday you celebrate and they may not be celebrating the same holiday that you celebrate.

The holiday season should be a time of acceptance and tolerance of our differences. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. The holiday season should be a time of love and family bonding, but this is not always the case either.
I used to love the holiday season. Even after I stopped celebrating the holidays of my childhood, I still enjoyed the holiday season. That is no longer the case, now I dread the approach of the holidays. I dread going out of the house between November 20 and January 24. I dread the holiday anger and fear that is becoming a part of the season.
What are my plans for the holiday season? On November 25, I will celebrate The Day of the Covenant and, on November 27, I will Commemorate the Ascension of 'Abdu'l-Baha. Since I know the winter holidays my sibling celebrate, I will call or text one brother a "Happy Hanukkah". My sister and other brother, I will call or text them a "Merry Christmas". Everyone else, I will wish "Happy Holidays".
What are your plans for celebrating or not celebrating the winter holidays? Will you doing any holiday shopping either online or in brick and mortar stores? Considering the slowness of the postal system, offline might be a good choice. However, if you shop offline, you have to deal with shortages and angry people.
How do you handle the paradox of a holiday season that is supposed to be joyful and happy? Let me know. Submit your holiday stories by Thursday, December 9, 2021.

Quick-Quill writes: While I have seen miracles happen throughout my lifetime, one that I experienced happened when I was trying to diet. The regimen was strict and I had to make cookies for my daughter. As I dropped the spoonfuls of dough onto the pan. Then in a moment, my finger, with a remnant of dough clinging to it moved to my mouth. My finger never made it to its destination. Shocked, my other hand turned the water on, and that finger got washed off. I stared at the wet finger. I had no intention of washing that finger, it was headed to my mouth. I had been praying for help with this dieting.
Elfycia Lee ☮ writes: You won't understand the true meaning of a miracle until you have experience the desperation of needing it. This word cannot be used lightly and unless one has gone through great pain, they will never understand what a miracle truly means.
