About This Newsletter

Hello everyone, I’m Samberine Everose and I'm here, one of the regular editors in the Romance/Love Topic of the WDC Newsletter, and just like I've been saying, I will not be tired in expressing my thankfulness to all the beautiful people here in this wonderful community of writers for not only helping us to improve our writings but giving us also encouragement and inspiration every day.*Smile*

My Newsletter this week is related to time in where it aligns with the stages of our life. That each stage has its own proper time.Find out here in my NL this week.

Letter from the editor

Just the way the time was

Recently, at work, we celebrated Christmas with a program themed around a specific era. Our host chose the 90s, so we were encouraged to dress in 90s fashion. This included performing songs and dances that were popular during that time, for our presentation.

These moments highlighted to me an idea that each year has its own unique beauty, a peak time, and distinct alignments at various stages of our lives.

There are stages of life according to Elizabeth Perry, from https://www.betterup.com/blog/stages-of-life, who referenced the work of American psychologist Erik Erikson. Erikson identified eight stages of life, each with its unique challenges and significance for human development and growth. Each stage presents its own challenges and opportunities for growth, which can influence our future selves.

*Tackg* Infancy- begins at birth and lasts until we are 18 months old. During this period, the primary development is trust. If the ability to trust is properly nurtured during this time, it encourages us to feel secure in our relationships with those around us. As we face challenging situations in life, having a strong sense of trust may lead us to believe that someone will come to our aid.

*Tackg* Toddlerhood- this is from 18 months to 3 years old. The age in where we begin to learn independently. The age of curiosity and according to E Perry the way how we interact in every curiousity of the child here is too risky because we are building their will here.

*Tackg* Preschool years- this is from ages 3 to 5..this is the period when we aim to learn independently. If we were motivated here to attempt to learn independently we may grow as a responsible individual.

*Tackg* Early school years - between the ages of five and 12, in where this is the period of self aware which involves social and emotional development including cognitive development.

*Tackg* Adolescence- Perry described it as the stage or period of turbulent, thus is from the ages of 12 to 18. In where the individual will experience a crisis of identity and mostly social acceptance.

*Tackg* Young adulthood- This period spans from ages 18 to 40, during which individuals build the social, professional, and financial foundations necessary for the rest of their lives. It is also a stage where people often face the choice between intimacy and isolation in their romantic relationships.

*Tackg* Middle adulthood- ages from 40 to 65. According to Eric Ericsson the crucial part here is the crossing to be generative or stagnation, or choose to be contributing on the society or not, or in other words, a period of passing on what they have learned to younger generation.

*Tackg* Late adulthood- This is for individuals aged 65 and older. This stage represents a time of deep reflection and introspection. Wisdom is the key value during this period; we either feel proud of our lives or have regrets. The essential solution lies in our ability to accept and forgive ourselves.

So how can we align this to our romance writing?

To align this concept with our romance writing, we can draw from careful observation and study of the various stages of life. By integrating these stages into our characters, we can enhance their development, making them more effective in how they interact, cope, and navigate the scenes in our stories. Just as every era has evolved—from manual processes to today’s technology—characters can also grow and transform throughout the narrative.

The Earth, that were first introduced in the Bible, and was created long ago, is very different now, due to the advancements in technology developed by human minds.

It is true that change is constant and has always been intertwined with time, just like humans; we are born and will eventually reach retirement.

In just a few hours, we will welcome a new year. I hope like the final stages of life we do not carry any regrets from the past years in our hearts. Instead, let us feel proud and at peace and forgiving as we embrace the upcoming year.
May our good almighty God will give us again a fruitful, healthy and a Successful New Year!*Heart*
