We will also feature "how to" advice and items that will help to jump start the creation process on Writing.com

Help! Where do I find it?
We all need assistance from time to time. Whether it be navigating a new place, like Writing.com, or technical assistance with our writing, or some inspiration to fuel our activities, help is both abundant and gracious here. I could not even hope to mention all places that one can find help, but I've listed a few key areas where some guidance is most often requested and compiled this list for your reference. Do explore more though, as there are numerous additional 'helps' just waiting to give you a hand.
Help with Gift Points / memberships
The best thing you can do is be active, especially entering contests, and doing lots of reviewing. Then, you can try these:
"Request An Upgrade From RAOK" [E] and "Invalid Item" . There are many groups offering upgrades and contests/raffles/auctions that help fundraise for upgrades, so mkae good use of the Search tool.
Help with writing technicalities
Well, goodness. This section is simply too large to cover in a nice neat little package. My best advice is that you search Writing.com. There are articles and advice columns on every subject from correct punctuation to how to set up your own contest.
One of the best things you can do is visit your subscriptions area (linked on your "My Account" page) and subscribe to newsletters in the fields in which your writing interests lie.
I did find this nifty little forum that includes some helpful links: "Invalid Item"
Help with Reviews
- Check out "Request Review" and "Review Forums" under the "Item Jumps" pull-down menu for places to get reviews.
- For help on style, content, and considerations when writing reviews, see the following: "Invalid Item" , "How to Critique a Story" [ASR].
Help with navigating the site
"Invalid Item" contains a comprehensive list of helpful links - check under the Site/Help Information heading. There are lots of other links for items that cover the other subheadings I've used in this newsletter.
Help with writer's block
- Look at the numerous contests found under "Contest Listings" within the "Item Jumps" pull-down menu.
- For inspiration: "Invalid Item" , "Invalid Item"
Specific Newbie help
Feeling overwhelmed, confused, grateful, or just want to introduce yourself? Try these: "Noticing Newbies" [13+] and "Invalid Item"
Coming to grips with something new takes time, so always give yourself time and focus to learn the proper use of grammar or to earn gift points to pay for an upgrade, or whatever else your need might be. To really help you with any of the above, learning to use the search function can be the most efficient method to then answer all your questions, or direct you to where those questions can be answered.
So happy hunting!
Thanks for reading.

i suppose i'm not technically a newbie anymore, but i like receiving the newsletter--it's a great way to find talented writers new to wdc.
i thought this week's topic was insightful and inspirational. when we're struggling over some plot point, or rules of grammar forgetting the reasons we write is easy to do.
thank you, puditat, for helping me to remember!

You're most welcome. It's always great to hear such sweet feedback!
I get these Newsletters but never read them. They end up in the... well, let's not go there now.
Since I've spent all day today on this site, I figured I might as well read what's in the mail and I'm glad I did! It was a good and refreshing reminder of the reasons as to why we write and what we take into consideration while we do so.
Very enlightening and you did a good job of explaining the simples thing that sometimes seems like a big riddle to us writers!
