WDC Power Search vs WWW Google

In the interest of promoting the wealth of knowledge found on WDC, I like to point new and older members to our own search engine. Google has its uses, but WDC has the answers. If you want to know, ask the members of WDC first. These items were all written especially for YOU. A plus for using Power Search is the opportunity for instant interaction with the authors. You can't do that with Google.

Submitted Comment: Great idea to list the terms esprit. I don't think I've ever heard of Widows and Orphans as related here. Thanks for making me aware. "Dead Metaphor" - sounds quite scary to a poet.

Thanks, Larry. *Smile*

Submitted Comment: Awesome info in the 8-14 Noticing Newbies newsletter! I always get metaphor and smilies and the like confused. Matter of fact, just yesterday I asked my daughter to explain them to me...again. lol. She did but she rattled them off so quick... I will definitely appreciate having my own list of well-written definitions (w/examples!) to refer to. I plan to print them out and tack them to my wall where it'll be handy. Now, I just have to remember it's there. Thanks again! Have a great day!
Best wishes,
Jane/jmpdk3

Thanks, Jane. I know I needed the list, so I figured others might too.

Submitted Comment: Thank you for this informative newsletter. This list of definitions is very handy, Esprit. It certainly has been a long time since I was at school and when you get to my age you seem to lose more knowledge than you gain!

*Delight* We don't lose it, Felix, we just misplace it. As Jane said, now we need to tack it to the wall.
