Letter from the editor

I had the honor of getting to share with you last time in "Spiritual Newsletter (August 4, 2010)Open in new Window.. Let us see what some of our readers had to share in return:

I felt the familiar pressure of fullness in my eyes when I read your trial with your pregnancy and the death of your Angel. Last June, 2009, I lost my two-year-old daughter, Juleane, from a brain tumor she apparently was born with. She never knew a day of health in her short two years and it truly was a blessing for her when she went home to the Lord. No more pain.

For me, for a while, it was just devastation, despair so deep I didn't think I would rise from it. God is faithful and, in time, healing began and I now can think of her without deep sorrow, remembering instead how precious she was when she was with me. Php. has so many beautiful verses and this is my favorite and so true. Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

I enjoyed the newsletter - thanks for sharing with us. - John

Oh wow, I could not imagine losing one of my children that I'd already held, nurtured, and raised for any amount of time. Do embrace how precious she was, and how much she filled your heart then - and hopefully even now. God is faithful.

I was lonely and sad. You see I had left someone I'd known for six years. Someone I was engaged to and intended to marry. Turns out I finally saw she was only out for the money.

I was literally alone in my despair and the Lord must have heard the cry of my heart. I was invited to a church and the lady who is now my wife was teaching Sunday School. The minute we were introduced, the Lord told me, "This is your wife." I was so relieved, but it took me another 6 months to even be able to ask her out.

I'm grateful the Lord brought us together when He did and still grateful she is with me 22 years later.

Thank you for sharing your heart and life in this newsletter.

These are the best kind of stories! I love when people are able to see and tell a way that they have been blessed.

There is yet another that I will not share, as it was sent to me by email and I do not know if the person wished it to be shared. However, this would be my reply to that person:

No, you are not alone. We are never alone, even when we feel we are. To illustrate this, I offer you one of my favorite pieces of prose. There are three versions that I know of, I will choose my favorite:

Footprints

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed He was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from His life. For each scene He noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonging to Him and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of His life flashed before Him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of His life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of His life.

This really bothered Him and He questioned the LORD about it. "LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied, "My precious, precious child, I Love you and I would never leave you! During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

This one isn't an item, but it is an entry in someone's blog. With the topics of the last few newsletters, I find it appropriate:

"Invalid EntryOpen in new Window.

This is the blog of the one who has taken on the task of running the aforementioned group, God's Way. He sees struggles in his life, and yet he also finds ways to overcome. (Even through writing!) I couldn't think of a more appropriate leader for a group seeking God's Way.
