Sometimes I WONDER, Why is that frisbee getting bigger?

Then it hits me! *Laugh*

Often,we forget to thank the one that makes this all possible. Our lives are so fragile and nobody realizes that more than I do at this time. How dire must a situation be for us to acknowledge our blessings, each and every day? I'd like to share my thoughts with you. Let's take a look ...

Letter from the editor

Happy Tenth Birthday WDC!!! *Balloon2**Balloon1**Balloon5*
Congratulations SM and SMs! May WDC enjoy many happy returns. *Smile*

Hello folks! My goodness it has been so long since I've been your guest editor for the Spiritual Newsletter. It is an honor and a privilege to be sharing this time with you. It's also an honor and privilege to be alive!

Recently, Web-Lock, (the love of my life) and I had a close call with death. Nothing changes your frame of mind and priorities nearly as much as that. We were stopped at a corner, not far from our home and the clearance to move forward was perceived as safe. Perceived, being the operative word, because as clear as a path seems at the moment of acceleration, it can change quickly with a simple movement, space and time, physics equation. Even Web~Witch knows that two objects can't occupy the same space at the same time. *Wink*

I happened to be looking toward WL as he proceeded to drive on, and saw a flash of white appear rapidly in our direction. I screamed, "stop," as WL turned to see the large, extended cab pick-up truck aiming for his door. At this point folks, everything went into slow motion. Every maneuver Web-Lock made to escape this death machine, the driver of that vehicle steered into our direction. By doing so, he jeopardized our lives more than one time. Thus, again, I yelled out, only this time, all I kept repeating was, "Oh, my God, Oh, my God!"

WL accelerated a little faster, but the other driver swerved toward rather than away from us. I saw the driver, yet again, heading toward the driver's side door and thought for sure we would be struck and perhaps one or both of us would die.

With that horrible vision, I thought about my eighteen-year-old son, who is at that age when he still, so very much, needs parental guidance and care. He is not a child but he's no adult either and the loss of his mother and a male parent figure would be devastating to him.

All of a sudden, just as we were about to be creamed but good, a Divine intervention took place. The hand of God, had to have come down and whisked us to safety, or He sent a flock of heavenly angels to lift the SUV, because it seemed there was no possible way for us to escape impact. Within seconds, we were safely across the road.

Now, folks, I'm no great mathematician nor do I excel in the science of physics, but I was certain from the speed involved with the other vehicle and the fact that we were just beginning to accelerate, and that the offending white blur of machinery was nearly kissing the driver's side when we noticed him, that we were doomed to be hit. Therefore, it was God's plan that we survive this mortal world for a bit longer.

I'm certain there is a plan and we've got more work to do before being called home. Thus, I became a believer in yet another miracle. There were precious moments in my life that I could only dub as miracles because they were personal requests from me to God, at a time I had very little hope of receiving these gifts.

We, (unless we commit suicide,) have no idea when we will meet our end of mortal days. I think that is a good thing because it gives us the chance to thank God for every morning we see. That is what this Newsletter is all about. Remember who gives us all this beauty in nature and loved ones, with whom we can share it all, plus, more time to appreciate it, like WL and I were recently gifted. Count your blessings, folks. Everything else works out, with a little help from Him. *Wink*

That's all she wrote for this edition of the Spiritual Newsletter. Until we meet again, remember how precious the gift of life is. Live it with joy, peace of mind and sharing. Also, don't forget to thank the one who makes it all possible.

Regards,
Web~Witch

Here are some comments from the last time I was your guest editor. It was the "Charity Should Begin at Home," Newsletter "Spiritual Newsletter (March 17, 2010)Open in new Window.. I talked about how overtaxed we are as citizens, thus, we have less disposable income to share with charities in our own communities. I was expecting some hate mail or at least dislike mail for that Newsletter. Folks, I was pleasantly surprised. Read below:

I could not agree with you more about our government. We're extremely overtaxed. It's a pity that so many are barely making ends meet. Great newsletter, WW! Thank you for including my poem. You rock *Smile*

The voice we all have is called voting. Based on what I've witnessed recently, I think we should vote against all incumbents and try some new faces.

" I used my free hand to take the pile of tax forms. Looking my beautiful children in the eyes as I did that, I felt like I said to them, "let 'em burn!"
So poignant, WW. *Heart* I think IRS needs to get a copy of your newsletter.
And to think...those staffers who did not bother to file returns...Enuf said.
Thanks for sharing your story with us. *Smile*

Thank you many, many times for giving us all a primer on how to abandon your kids, and not tax forms, in event of a house conflagration! Who would have thought this up? *Shock*

Your point was taken - well I might add - about how the Government, nearly insolvent as we speak, takes it upon itself to donate $$ to charities. There is a human factor involved here that no matter what party we belong to, this has been going down for millenia. Favoritism always washes the upper hand.

Thank you for this: many of us respect the power of the IRS and conclude (wisely) that when we see sheep wearing sunglasses afield, it might be best to keep close "tally" on our family flock!!

Keep Writing!!

Thank you for remembering Judy B. I read all your choices and each of them were superb. I love reviewing and this along with the other newsletters provide fodder to review others.
Thank you for writing and thankful you are safe after the fire you were in. The link I leave with you is the memorial acrostic I wrote for JudyB upon learning of her death.

I read your newsletter and giggled to myself with a thought in mind. It's not that charity has fallen by the wayside, but, as in your situation, we are all too caught up in the everyday bustle of life to notice that it still goes on quietly; be it the neighbor that offers a hand or the unknown person who contributes to the silent auction in the purchase of a vacant building needed to house the homeless, as is the case in my hometown. Charity comes in all forms no matter the financial status. The cause is more noteworthy than the recognition and kindly passes us by without notice.
And I offer my apologies to your recent loss.

Thank you all, very much for your encouraging comments. They were appreciated more than you realize.

God bless, and until next time, keep the faith, live life with joy and never let them get you down. *Thumbsup*
