Inside Your Portfolio

Welcome to Writing.Com!

I'd like to say that you've joined at an awesome time in the history of the site. But the truth is Writing.Com is such a dynamic and evolving site for aspiring and established writers that whether you joined one year after WDC was founded or today, it's always an awesome time to be a member.

The owners of the site, The ScaryMaster Author Icon and The StoryWitchress Author Icon, are the creative and hands-on geniuses that have made Writing.Com the premier peer to peer writing site on the Web. And we're not chopped liver for readers either. *Smile* The changes they implement regularly are sure to make your stay here both productive and rewarding.

Everyone--free or paid member, newbie or seasoned member, registered User to Staff--has one thing in common: a Portfolio which you can personalize to suit your specific needs, wants, and desires. Your port is as unique as your fingerprint. Take a moment to check out the Authors list. Look at some of the Ports. As I write there words, there are 85335 different Ports to choose from with no two being alike. *Wink*

Ok, they all have tab's--up to eight of them: Portfolio, Reviews, Biography, Notebook, Blog, Fans, Community, and Sliders. Some or all may be displayed in a given Port. One or more links may be located on a line just under the tab allowing you to perform selected tasks within that tab, including the ability to Manage that tab. Play around with the Manage link. to see how it works for each tab.

Or, if trial and error isn't your thing, check out the series of entries in "Writing.Com 101Open in new Window. related to each specific tab. I've listed them here for your convenience:

Next month, we'll delve deeper in the business of Portfolio tabs, and how to make your Port reflect your personality. Till then, explore on your own. *Wink*

Ask & Answer

And from the mailbox about my last Noticing Newbies newsletter, "Let's PartyOpen in new Window..

From Steven Alexander Author Icon: Oops! C'mon don't keep us on the edge! Who are those Newbies? Whom are the "Editor's Picks"?

I'm sorry they didn't appear for you. I was sure they were submitted. I will make sure of my submissions in the future.

From Elle - on hiatus Author Icon: Oh dear. Doesn't look like you're having a good run with the newsletters, Jace. *Sad* Just think of it this way - you're proving to all the newbies that everyone on this site, moderators, senior moderators and staff included, are just human. We all make mistakes. It is not just possible or even likely, but inevitable. Is this not, after all, why we write reviews? To help people see these mistakes? Don't give up. *Smile*

Yes, Miss Elle - on hiatus Author Icon. It does seem like I've had a run of bad luck. I've been working with the SM to correct this problem. Hopefully, all is well with this newsletter.

From GERVIC Author Icon: Hi Jace! How are you? By the way, I noticed the Editor's pick section of this newsletter is vacant again. I thought you would highlight some beautiful works and writings of our dearest newbies.

This should be a great newsletter. I love party and celebration especially when it comes to WDC anniversary. I just can't wait to see the beautiful and delightful goodies SM and SMs are preparing for everyone to get surprised. Thanks!

Indeed! I do try to highlight Newbies who have filled out their Bios. Just had a problem with this issue. *Sad*

From Glassboots Author Icon: I really enjoy your newsletters. :)

Thanks so much. I appreciate your encouragement.

From RICHARD Author Icon: softly the wings gently beat
the bird raises into the sky
into the tranquil sun kissed sky
cloud as white as diaphones is clear

you are the grace
that carries with it your lover's dream
the dream that is what you be
you are graceful as a dove as it takes to the air

Thanks for sharing. *Smile*
