Get the Most of Your Newsfeed

Letter from the editor

We use our newsfeed for a number of different things, whether it's to tell of some things that are going on in our lives, update on the status of things on the site or promote a contest or activity. These are all great ways to keep the social aspect of WDC going strong but there are so many other things that the newsfeed can be used for if we just get creative.

So what all can you do with the newsfeed?

*Starr* Host trivia on various topics to get users involved.

*Staro* Do giveaways for merit badges or other on-site items.

*Star* Promote activities for yourself and other members.

*Starg* Run an activity directly from the newsfeed (use challenges, short contest, etc).

*Starb* Share images with your fans about what you're doing.

*Starv* Gear your posts toward the whole community and make it even more social.

Many of us only use our newsfeeds to talk about our lives or promote activities/contests right now but we can do so much more with it. Have you already thought up the next great newsfeed activity?

Ask & Answer

My question for you this time: How do you use your newsfeed? Are you going to start using it any differently?

Question from before ("Contests & Activities Newsletter (December 10, 2014)Open in new Window.): How do you balance your online and offline responsibilities?

StephBee Author Icon replied: Great topic about keeping all your commitments organized. I use a calendar myself, but I realize I need to expand it. My time on WDC has dropped these past couple of years. I'm a chauffeur to the boys, then there's family commitments, my own desire to write, marking and promo, I'm pooped. One of my goals is to be around WDC more often in 2015. Thanks for the inspiration. It's a new year. Write something new today.
