Writing is an exploration. You start from nothing and learn as you go.
~ E. L. Doctorow
Writing is an extreme privilege but it's also a gift. It's a gift to yourself and it's a gift of giving a story to someone.

Most days, while on the site, we think about which contest to take part in, what type of activity we'd enjoy more, what to write. There comes a time however where the inspiration almost disappears, vanishes in thin air.
There are ways to fix that problem. Many of us call that writer's block, but it may not necessarily be that. Our lives don't revolve around our writing; it's rather the other way around. We write when we have a chance, when we feel inspired, find something we want to record. Sometimes, we simply don't have the time to sit down and concentrate long enough to form words on a page.
Writing prompts on a daily basis can be inspiring, just enough to write a few sentences, a paragraph. It keeps the mind active even if you don't feel that the inspiration is present. The blogging groups on WdC can be quite fun to participate in. Their daily prompts give food for thought, bring new ideas forth, challenge you to learn something new.
Then again, you might not be in the mood for any of the above. Perhaps you feel like reflecting on your life, the actions you've taken, the changes you've been dealing with. At times it can be hard to sort all that out, just thinking about so many things at once. Blogging or writing in your journal can bring clarity to you, but also it can relieve stress, because, let's face it, we all need to vent sometimes. When you do, don't think you haven't done anything productive with your time.
The fact that you wrote is a plus in itself. Having written about what's been bothering you will help you clear your head and also find a solution, but what's more, it will create room for some productivity. Be that writing or otherwise. It's something to think about, don't you agree? Clear your mind. You may be surprised what ideas may lurk in the dusty corners because you've been unconsciously preoccupied with something else.
'Til next time!
