Letter from the editor

There are days, weeks, sometimes even months where I don't look at a book, let alone grab one to read it. The dry spells and the lack of words don't help the inspiration, but most days I think that if I don't read, I'll have more time to write. However, I found that to be inaccurate. I never have time to write. Reading I enjoy immensely. The smell of the pages (Yes, I still stick my nose inside a book just to smell it.), the design of the cover, author's note. To me, it's a key to open the world within.

As of late, I've started reading Nora Roberts. What I mean is, I have to have all the books for a particular trilogy before I can start since, once I start I can't not finish the whole thing. While some find her writing a bit slow as well as redundant - show me a writer who isn't redundant - I enjoy her writing so much that I've been buying all her books.

She wasn't a favorite of mine. As a matter of fact, I avoided her books like the plague - because of the critique I've heard. Yet, I knew better than to judge a book by its cover and reluctantly opened up one and started reading. Needless to say, I loved it so much that my next shopping trip involved a dozen of her books. If you ask me what it is about her writing, I wouldn't be able to pinpoint a particular thing. It's all of it, but mostly it's the characters she writes about. They hook me from the start and don't let go until the end.

Her writing is filled with little tidbits of drama, mystery, and plenty of romance. I can't say no. I think that it's the mix of it all, with just the right amounts which keep me intrigued and makes me want to know more, find new characters. It wasn't love at first sight but it's love nonetheless.

So who's your favorite author to binge read? *Bigsmile*

'Til next time!
