Letter from the editor

I'm not good at puzzles, nor do I want to solve any, even though I like them. That could also depend on the mood. The writing where certain clues are hidden in plain sight intrigue me because the mind will skip over them, not notice them until it's time to see them. When the writer presents the finished product and connects the dots for you, you may feel a bit betrayed by your own brain because you feel you should have seen it all, but you didn't.

That type of writing isn't easy to pull of and it shows you the skill of the writer. I'm not sure if I'd be able to pull off that type of writing. Could you? Have you tried it? I'd love to read stories where the reader feels almost clueless and yet all of them are staring him in the face. Definitely a punch in the face, I'd say.

While mystery revolves around many different aspects of crime, as well as combines other genres, it's educational. I haven't met a person who doesn't enjoy at least a small amount of mystery. That means that you can't go wrong with it. All you have to do is be smart in your choices and how you present the story.

'Til next time!
