Hello, everyone. I am ~ Santa Sisco ~ . I'm one of the four permanent editors of the Noticing Newbies newsletter.
My aim is to ensure you have a smooth transition into the site. I still remember my first day here. "Bitem?" Do I have to be a computer programmer to put my writing on here? Forty-eight hours later, I realized it was a case of easy when you know how!. My biggest mistake when I joined was that I didn't take the time to read the "Writing.Com 101" . I was excited and wanted to do everything the same day. Sound familiar?
You will see my contributions every four weeks, and I hope they help you with using this great site.
My fellow permanent editors are Tornado Dodger and Sara♥Jean .

When I joined WDC, I was looking for help with my writing. I didn’t know back then that my joining this site would forge some of the most rewarding friendships I have ever had. I was unaware that so many people were striving for the same type of help I was. Because of this community, I enjoy writing poetry, which wasn’t even a thought when I joined. I have also received great support for physical and mental health problems I have. Yes, I didn’t expect to find that many members have similar problems. I hadn’t envisaged a community when I joined, but I can no longer imagine what life would be like without these beautiful people in it.
Newbies:
The first community you will encounter is the band of brothers/sisters know as Newbies!
You can announce your arrival in the "Noticing Newbies" , and you will receive a reply from any one of our members. I would advise you to indicate why you are here in your introduction, so you can be directed to an area of WDC that may be of interest to you.
Groups:
My first real sense of community came when I joined a couple of groups. I was astounded by the offers to help and a genuine interest in ME! I was almost suspicious at the amount of seemingly friendly people contacting me on group forums and by email. It all seemed too good to be true. Then I realized I was just amongst a group of people who all wanted similar things and had similar interests – all gathered into one place. It was like being at a rock concert, with many different people all gathered for a common purpose. I was home.
Cases:
We are all assigned a different case color, depending on our involvement with the WDC community over a period of time. I will not go into this in great detail, but you can look in the "Writing.Com 101" to read more. Gray/Black cases mainly use the "Writing.Com General Discussion" . Each case color above Black has its own forum, and therefore its community. We are still members of all previous forums and have access to post and keep in touch with our friends. The only exception is the "Noticing Newbies" which only allows posts from newbies, but we can all reply to posts made there.
Individuals:
After a while on WDC, you will build up your community of friends and very close friends. This friendship extends far beyond WDC, and many writers have met in real life and keep in touch with each other daily.
Welcome to the WDC community!

Hi, I'm planning to write an autobiography and I am keeping memories by writing them down on my cell phone and on my computer.
My question is when I'm finished with all my thoughts coming out, how do I put everything together? Meagan.
Thank you for your comment, Meagan. Non-fiction is not an area of my expertise. I would suggest requesting help in the "Writing.Com General Discussion" . If you don't get a response, feel free to email me and I'll find out for you.

Writer's block or blank page syndrome are both components of the natural history of any writer's itinerary. It leads to getting a rest of such ideas machine producer, to review and renew ideas of someone's self-writing and finally to write again better than previously. I have appreciated a lot such subject.
Thank you for your thoughts on this matter. Good luck with your writing.

Thank you for your advice. I've found out brainstorming doesn't work for me either, I just end up getting a headache. Reading new or old novels helps, a lot, I just get ideas and this time I write them down before turning on my laptop.
Usually, when I don't I also suffer from the blank page syndrome and I might find myself struggling with another block.
Thanks for your comment. It is nice to see someone else using the same methods I do to overcome the dreaded block.
