So there’s the list I’ve been able to compile from going through a number of children’s books on holidays. If I’ve missed or butchered yours, by all means drop me a line and I’ll rectify the matter.
Next month I will begin finding some monsters for us. Some in this small series will be traditional, classical, and/or well known. Some will be less known. I’m not going to get into the “unbearable mother, father, sister, second wife---you supply the word thing. Rather, I will try to find things like the Cyclops and give a small description/background on it.
Why? Because there’s always got to be a different angle of horror, even if it’s been `done to death’. I mean, how many versions have you seen of “A Christmas Carol”?

“It’s certainly a novel idea, mainly because almost all holidays are celebrations of happiness. When I think about some of the things that have been done to Christmas and Valentine’s Day I shudder. The idea of researching Native American, Aboriginal or even African cultures for material for horror stories is inspirational. Thanks for the ideas!

“Hi! I really enjoy the Holiday Horror theme in the newsletter, and thought I'd remind you of a Swedish holiday on December 13th, the day of Saint Lucia. She was a young girl from Sicily who had her eyes removed as punishment for loving God, and she was canonized later. In Sweden, my home country, she brings light and song to the people during the darkest night of the year... “

“hello,
its a very good idea to include these occasions from different countries thrugh all over the world. Cultures may meet here and people will get to know each other's traditions an a secure bond can be build between people all over the world. But I hope that in your next letter you will include some other countries that suffered much especially during this last period where, though even the free voices of journalists are being assassinated , they are celebrating freedom and fighting to attain it, you can take a look at Lebanon for example! and thanks for your nice efforts
